Police reported they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.

An important representative commented the attack made him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
